Knowledge changes little until it informs action. Action, however, is not automatically safer than analysis.
The right threshold depends on reversibility, evidence, and consequence. A small experiment may begin with partial information. A tax move, medical decision, or irreversible commitment may require qualified advice and much stronger preparation.
To close an intention-action gap:
- Define the outcome and the evidence that would count as progress.
- Identify the smallest reversible action that tests an important assumption.
- Name the downside and the condition that would stop the test.
- Act, observe, and revise.
Readiness cannot be reduced to 50 percent, and failure is not guaranteed to teach. The aim is enough preparation for the consequence, followed by contact with reality.
