Privacy
A reading site with limited data collection.
The UV Almanac does not ask readers to create accounts or submit personal profiles. This notice explains the limited information processed when you visit the site.
Site use
The site is delivered as static pages. Search runs in your browser against a site index. Search terms may appear in your browser's address bar, but query strings are excluded from the page location sent to analytics.
Hosting and delivery
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes request and network information, which can include IP addresses, traffic-routing data, system configuration, and information about traffic to and from the site, to deliver, protect, and operate its services. Cloudflare's handling of that information is described in its privacy policy ↗.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand readership and site performance. It can record events such as page views, first visits, sessions, and engagement, together with technical and contextual information such as page path, referrer, browser, device category, and approximate location.
Google Analytics uses IP addresses at collection time to derive location information and then discards them before the addresses are logged. This site does not set a user ID, sends page paths without query strings, and disables Google Signals and ad-personalization signals.
Google describes its data handling in How Google uses information from sites that use its services ↗ and the Google Privacy Policy ↗.
Cookies
Google Analytics can set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish visitors and preserve session state. Google's default expiration for these cookies is two years and can be renewed by later visits. Browser settings and privacy extensions can restrict or remove cookies and block analytics requests.
External links
The Almanac links to services and sites operated by others. Their privacy practices apply after you follow those links.
Questions and changes
This notice will be revised when the site's data practices materially change. For privacy questions, use the contact information published at UV.BIO ↗.
